Q: How do the “six gifts” work?
A: If you buy Wrecked the first few days it comes out, we’ll send you six gifts that are worth over $158.00. Here’s how it works:
- Buy the book at your favorite online or local retailer between Aug. 1 and Aug 5.
- Scan the receipt and send it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
- We’ll give you access to an exclusive web page where you can download six gifts.
Once you submit your receipt, we’ll have to confirm it and then send you back your access code. (Note: Some of the gifts may not be available until a week or two after the book releases, but you’ll have unlimited access to this page.)
Q: Do I still get the gifts if I buy an eBook version (e.g. Kindle or Nook)?
A: Yes, but in full disclosure, we’re doing this promotion to move as many physical copies of the book as possible. If you buy a hard copy (which retails for roughly the same price as the eBook), we’ll send you ALL the electronic copies of the book for free (as part of the six gifts).
So if you’re a Kindle purist, you could always buy the hard copy, get your eBook version and then give the physical book away. But yes, we will still honor eBook sales.
Q: How do I get access to the six gifts?
A: Once you send us your receipt (which you can forward via email if you’ve made your purchase online or you can scan if you bought in a brick-and-mortar store), you will get access to a page where you can download all the free resources.
Q: Does this apply to people who live outside the United States?
A: Absolutely. Location doesn’t matter. If you buy the book from a major retailer the week it comes out (Barnes & Noble, Amazon, etc.) and send us the receipt, you’ll get the gifts.
Q: If I buy multiple copies for friends, can they get the gifts?
A: Yes. Just forward them your receipt and have your friend pass it on. Also, ask this person to make a note that this was a gift.
Q: How long do I have to access the gifts?
A: We will leave the resource page up during and after the promotion. You have unlimited access to download these resources. We may eventually take the page down, but it will be up for at least 90 days after the book’s release date.
Q: Will there be other resources for the book?
A: Yes, we have a few exciting things in the works. Stay tuned! If you don’t want to miss anything, make sure you’re signed up for free updates.
Q: What if I don’t get an email back after I submit my receipt?
A: Once you send your receipt to email@example.com, you should receive confirmation within a couple of minutes. After we confirm your email and receipt, you should get a link to re-confirm your name and email. This is to make sure you’re an actual person.
Once you re-confirm, you’ll get another link to the download page via email. If you do not receive these emails, please check your spam folder. If you do not see it in your spam folder, let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org and we will help you (make sure you white-list the email address email@example.com by adding it to your address book).
Q: The book isn’t available for sale in my country yet. Can I preorder it and get the six gifts?
A: Yes, if you preorder the book between Aug. 1 and 5 (if it’s not yet for sale where you live), we’ll honor the six gifts promotion.
Q: I’m having trouble downloading the six gifts. What am I doing wrong?
A: Try using a different browser. Some people have had trouble using Chrome. Also, make sure you click the links to download them directly to your computer.
